POSITION SUMMARY

Under the oversight of the Director of Financial Services, ensures the effective and efficient delivery and strategic leadership and accountability for financial management of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing is required.
  • Demonstrated and progressive experience leading a broad range of financial services within a complex and multi-service organization.
  • Experience leading in a municipal or broader public sector organization preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Thorough understanding of Public Sector Accounting Standards including financial statement presentation.
  • Excellent working knowledge of municipal financial related legislation and provincial reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with key stakeholders such as internal staff, area municipal partners, external agencies, public, and consultants to deliver programs and services.
  • Knowledge of relevant trends, best practices and legislation and regulations.
  • An acceptable Criminal Record Check will be required.
