POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the efficient and effective delivery of communication and public engagement activities for Oxford County programs and services. This role requires excellent writing skills and experience developing content for websites and social media.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Communication, English, media studies or a related discipline
- Excellent writing ability, including strong editing skills and familiarity with Canadian Press style
- Experience using graphic design software and/or web content management systems
- Experience monitoring and developing content for social media
- Knowledge of relevant municipal communication trends, best practices and legislation
- Demonstrated ability to deal with multiple deadlines and changing priorities while maintaining accuracy through short delivery times
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
- Ability to demonstrate the required competencies for this position in alignment with Oxford County’s Competency Framework
- Experience in a public sector or related setting is preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
