Are you an experienced HGV fitter looking for a new role? Fully qualified and keen to work on a fleet of modern machines? Enjoy a challenge? We are seeking to expand our Kettering based engineering team, with the addition of a HGV fitter. Our varied fleet travels throughout the country on a daily basis, and requires regular maintenance to ensure they keep on moving. With a full workshop available and working alongside our Operations and Transport teams, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical health of our fleet, troubleshooting, repairing and servicing our HGVs and fleet of small vans.
Full Role Description
- Carry out routine servicing, regular maintenance and repair work on our mixed fleet of modern HGVs
- Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults
- Perform safety inspections, MOT preparations
- Complete works to the highest standards of quality and safety
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical/electrical issues
- Work alongside the transport team to ensure that works are carried out efficiently
- Keep accurate records of all works carried out, parts used, issues identified etc.
Role Requirements
- Minimum NVQ Level 3
- Time served applicants welcome
- Up to date knowledge of modern HGV models
- IT literate and capable of using diagnostic tools and software
- Team player with strong problem solving and communication skills
- Interest and involvement in supporting and helping to develop apprentice transition
