County Insurance Services provide an extensive range of bespoke insurance policies for private clients and businesses, through both retail and wholesale distribution channels. We have a number of delegated authority household schemes for thatched homes, period houses and let properties. We pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with both our clients and our colleagues.
We are looking for continued growth and are currently seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Household/Thatch Underwriter to join our independent and family run insurance brokers. This role is essential in evaluating and underwriting thatched/standard construction and other non-standard construction properties to provide specialised insurance coverage to our direct clients and panel of agents.
- Evaluate applications for household/thatched property insurance, assessing risk factors and working to underwriting guidelines.
- Work directly with owners of thatched properties and other insurance brokers to determine their insurability and assess risk levels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry partners.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to thatched property & household insurance.
- Handle inbound and outbound sales enquiries for household insurance products.
- Proactively develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers and industry partners.
Requirements:
- GCSE Grade C/4 and above, English & Maths.
- To already hold Cert CII accreditation or complete it within 2 years of joining County (through a fully funded apprenticeship scheme).
- At least 2 years insurance experience, either in personal lines or commercial insurance.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, as well as relevant rules and regulations.
- At least 2 years customer services experience within the insurance industry, either in personal lines or commercial insurance.
