We are a specialist education and performance environment, supporting aspiring golfers through a combination of academic study, coaching, strength and conditioning, and player development. We are looking for a lecturer who can bring sport science to life in a way that is engaging, practical, and relevant to golf performance.

About the role

The successful candidate will deliver sport science content to post-16 students, helping them understand the principles behind performance, fitness, recovery, injury prevention, and athlete development. The role will be based primarily in Essex, although there may occasionally be a requirement to work across our other sites in the South East of England. The position will involve planning and delivering high-quality sessions, supporting learners academically, marking and assessing student work, and contributing to a positive and professional college environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and informative sport science lessons to students aged 16–18
  • Support students in understanding topics such as anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, psychology, and performance analysis
  • Relate sport science concepts to real sporting performance, ideally within golf
  • Mark and assess student work, providing clear, constructive, and timely feedback
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic support where needed
  • Help create a professional, positive, and ambitious learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with coaching and academic staff across the college
  • Be flexible to occasionally support delivery at other college sites across the South East of England

The ideal candidate will have

  • A degree in Sport Science or a closely related subject
  • A passion for developing young people in both education and sport
  • An interest in golf, with previous playing, coaching, or industry experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate students in a practical, performance-focused setting
  • Previous teaching, lecturing, coaching, or youth development experience is desirable, but not essential

Desirable

  • Experience working with golfers or within a golf environment
  • Understanding of strength and conditioning, athlete monitoring, or performance testing
  • A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience delivering post-16 education or vocational sport qualifications
