Job summary

Radiology is a busy department providing Xray, CT, MRI,Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound services for the Emergency department, In-patientsand Out-patients. We provide 24/7 diagnostic services to the hospital using high quality up-to-dateequipment.

Please note – This role is for a 0.4WTE postwhere the candidate will usually work 2 days per week. Candidates may work acombination of 7.5hour, 9.25hour or 5.75hour shifts dependant on departmentalneeds, including weekend working.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to carry out avariety of duties within the Radiology department to assist radiographers,nurses and radiologists during procedures as required. Working as part of ateam is a necessity to ensure the day runs smoothly. They must be patientfocussed and be able to advocate for the patients if/when required.

They will also need to be able to deal with telephoneenquiries from a variet of sources, prioritize their workload and workunsupervised when necessary.

It is essential to have a good level of generaleducation and basic understanding of IT. Good communication, interpersonal andorganizational skills are also an essential requirement for this post.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites – Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients\’ homes.
