Garageservices4u & Coachhire4u has a vacancy for an experienced body panel repairer Paint sprayer to start work on site immediately in Luton, near the Airport. We are a Bus and coach Company that has been servicing the local Area since 1969. We have a £9 Million Turnover across our companies and employ over 80 colleagues. For us, it is imperative to uphold our reputation of smart quality vehicles. Unfortunately, as these vehicles are large, they do regularly obtain scuffs, scrapes, and panel damage, and this is where you would come in. We recently erected a workshop to allow us to repair and paint our vehicles on site, allowing us to get them back into service ASAP. In addition, we do look after other operators' vehicles.
We are offering an excellent salary for the right person with a 'let's get the job done' attitude, plus benefits with full support on equipment required to do the job and a great range of equipment.
Candidates must:
- Have a minimum of 3 years refurb and/or accident repair experience. If longer, this may influence the package offered.
- Have all panel repairing & paint spraying skills.
- Have your own tools, but we do have a lot on site.
- Be able to do most aspects of spray painting to a high standard.
- Be able to manage your own workload.
- Work to an extremely high standard.
- Have good problem-solving skills.
- Work well with in-house mechanics that can assist with panelling and welding; being able to weld will be a useful skill.
- Be able to work on a variety of vehicles.
- Be able to do most aspects of panel beating and fibreglassing.
- Have a valid driving license; a PSV Cat D would be useful, but training can be given.
- ATA/NVQ Level 3 qualification would be an advantage but not essential. Experience within the industry is required; a proven track record is more important than qualifications.
You will be an experienced Panel Beater / Paint Sprayer, confident in your ability to work effectively, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will manage your own workload, focusing on deadlines while being aware of health and safety in your working environment.
The job is 40 hours per week, but we are flexible with start times and finish times which may suit someone with family commitments and childcare issues. Lates, early starts, and split days are options. We are flexible and open to the right person taking time off in the week as long as it is made up over the weekend. However, you must complete the 40 hours.
The primary objective is keeping our fleet in tip-top condition and on the road. We need flexibility, so we are happy to give it, but as a general rule, the hours are 08:00 - 17:00 with 2 x 15-minute breaks and 1 x 30-minute break each day.
