Location: Home based- with minimum of 8 days a month away from home

Countrywide Hotels are a leading hotel management company with a wide variety of assets, from resorts to country houses and large bedroom focused hotels with branded opportunities. We’re now recruiting for a Business Development Manager to take ownership of the M25 / Hertfordshire & Hampshire.

Position Summary: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving accommodation, meetings and events revenue from corporate direct clients who have not used our hotels prior or have become a lapsed user of over one year. This role will be territory based and will allow the successful candidate to grow and maintain a strong pipeline of direct clients who will book multiple meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and accommodation groups across the Countrywide Hotels portfolio. The successful candidate will be able to create a strategic sales plan targeting different business sectors. They will also be able to create and host client events relevant to each sector. These events will be aimed at PA / EA bookers and will promote both the Countrywide Hotels brand as well as our individual hotels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, solicit, and close new business to drive transient, Meetings & Events and group revenues across the hotel portfolio.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, corporate travel managers, and industry partners.
  • Develop a territory strategy plan focusing on bringing a new customer base who will regularly use the Countrywide Hotels portfolio.
  • Identify and secure new revenue opportunities by representing the hotel brand at local and national trade shows.
  • Work closely with CWH Sales and property-level General Managers and Sales teams to ensure alignment and consistency in sales efforts.
  • Monitor performance against sales goals and adjust strategy as needed to achieve targets.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and develop business.
  • Ability to travel to visit clients and hotels a minimum of 8 days per month, which could also include overnight stays and ad hoc weekend events.
