The Drylining Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing the commercial and financial aspects of drylining projects. This includes cost control, contract management, procurement, and ensuring profitability while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Management
    • Manage all commercial activities across drylining projects from tender stage through to final account.
    • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and variations.
    • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and maximise profitability.
  • Cost Control & Reporting
    • Produce accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and financial reports.
    • Monitor project costs, identifying risks and opportunities.
    • Manage valuations, applications for payment, and cash flow.
  • Procurement
    • Oversee procurement of materials and subcontractors.
    • Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing aligned with project programmes.
  • Contract Administration
    • Interpret and manage contracts (e.g., JCT/NEC).
    • Handle variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants.
    • Attend commercial meetings and represent the company professionally.
    • Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and mentor quantity surveyors and commercial staff.
    • Support the development of junior team members.
