Job Title: Yard Supervisor Location: Ridham, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME9 8SR Salary: £17.35 per hour Job Type: Permanent/ Full time About Us: Countrystyle Recycling is a dynamic, family-run Waste Management and Recycling Company. We collect, handle, process, dispose and recycle almost all forms of waste. Our main facility, at Ridham in Sittingbourne, Kent, provides specialist services for the recycling of plasterboard, wood, mixed dry recyclables and the manufacture of RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel). About the role: The Yard Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the skip and roll-on yard, ensuring that bins are prepared for returning drivers' next jobs and liaising with the workshop to ensure the regular upkeep of bin stock and shunting for the workshop where required. Please note candidates must have a category C+E license to be eligible to apply Duties and Responsibilities: Teamwork & Communication: * Work closely with the Drivers Operations Team, workshop staff, and other key stakeholders to maintain seamless yard operations. * Build strong relationships with drivers, ensuring accurate AM/PM vehicle checks are completed. * Help improve fleet efficiency, reducing lead-in and lead-out times. * Communicate effectively with drivers and supervisors, addressing any concerns promptly. * Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment with a proactive approach. Yard Organisation & Maintenance: * Keep the skip and roll-on yard tidy and well-organized, ensuring all bins and equipment are in designated areas. * Regularly inspect the yard, identifying and addressing any areas for improvement. * Manage the movement and positioning of bins, skips, and equipment for optimal space and accessibility. Bin Preparation & Stock Management: * Prepare bins for drivers' next jobs, ensuring they are clean, in good condition, and fully equipped. * Keep accurate records of bin stock levels, reporting any shortages. * Assist with loading and unloading bins onto vehicles when required. Workshop Coordination: * Liaise with the workshop team regarding bin maintenance and repairs. * Organize the movement of bins and equipment between the yard and workshop. * Provide feedback to the workshop team on bin performance and condition. Health, Safety & Housekeeping: * Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean, safe, and hazard-free yard. * Follow all health & safety procedures and report any concerns. * Participate in safety meetings and training to stay up to date with best practices.
