About the role:
We are seeking an LGV2 Driver for a permanent position at Countrystyle in Thetford. The role involves daily vehicle checks, ensuring vehicle safety, completing allocated work, maintaining communication with the Fleet Office, and representing the company professionally. Essential qualifications include good communication skills, geographic knowledge of East Anglia, excellent driving skills, previous HGV driving experience, full LGV C (Class 2) licence, and a valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC). Previous experience in the recycling industry is desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Complete daily vehicle checks and fill out the Vehicle Defect sheet at the start and end of each shift.
- Ensure all CCTV cameras are working before starting work, and inward-facing cameras are positioned correctly.
- Report all defects, including tyre issues, to the Fleet Office.
- Complete all allocated work within the day and submit paperwork on time.
- Maintain communication with the Fleet Office and report any issues immediately.
- Behave professionally as a customer-facing representative.
- Refuel vehicles at the end of the day or on the return journey.
- Present the Tachograph card weekly for downloading.
- Report to the Fleet Office for debriefing and advice on the next day's work.
- Secure all loads to prevent waste or debris from falling.
- Keep the vehicle and trailer in a safe, serviceable, and clean condition.
- Load and unload the vehicle following Safe Working Procedures and Risk Assessments.
- Work from other depots and operate other vehicles as needed.
- Wear the Countrystyle Recycling Uniform and correct PPE.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the Fleet Office or Compliance Team.
About you:
Essentials:
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Good geographic knowledge of East Anglia.
- Excellent driving skills and road safety knowledge.
- Previous HGV driving experience.
- Full LGV C (Class 2) licence with no more than 6 penalty points and no DR points in the last five years.
- A valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
