About the role:
The main purpose of the role is to carry out both programmed and responsive refuse & recycling collections on a daily basis as per the contract requirement and specification.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the loading of Waste into the vehicle.
- Responsible for the daily inspection and reporting procedure for machinery prior to and on completion of use.
- Report progress and/or any matters which arise affecting delivery of service.
- Maintain contact with the Supervisor notifying of any delays or missed collections.
- Ensure that correct PPE is worn at all times.
- Report any dangerous situation, occurrences, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Office immediately.
- Work as part of the team to ensure that all allocated work is completed within the Working Day.
- Assist the driver with directing vehicle manoeuvres. This will involve vacating the vehicle and clearly directing the driver in a safe and compliant manner.
- Represent the Company in the public eye and behave in an appropriate and professional manner.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately to your fleet office or the Compliance Team and obtain details as required.
- Staff have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions at work.
- Staff must co-operate, report unsafe conditions and comply with the company management systems and safe systems of work as well as co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.
