The purpose of the role is to ensure the profitable and compliant operation of the Artic department and delivery of associated sales growth targets in accordance with the Company's overall corporate strategy.
Responsibilities
- To expand and optimise all Artic operations to ensure alignment with the overall corporate strategy as set by the Board.
- To lead the Artic team and manage their continuous improvement through coaching and mentoring and supporting them in the achievement of their personal targets.
- To deliver the department P&L by:
- Production and analysis of the daily vehicle productivity reports (VPR's).
- Identifying areas where improvement could be made in vehicle productivity and underlying profitability.
- Reviewing all costs of the department.
- Overseeing the timely and efficient processing of daily work tickets/ weighbridge transactions including the allocation of work to sub‑contractors.
- Providing timely data to the Finance team including reconciliation of sub‑contracted work to ensure this work is invoiced in a timely fashion.
- Generation of purchase orders and invoice authorization to ensure costs are accurately allocated.
- Identifying and concluding sales opportunities for existing and new customers as needed to drive revenue/ profit in association with the Sales and Commercial Teams.
- Effective management of bonuses, overtime and night out monies.
Essentials
- Previous experience in managing a transport operation.
- Experience of team building and leadership.
- Proven experience in dealing with employee relations issues.
- Proven experience of reporting to and liaising with Director level appointments.
- Fleet Manager CPC.
- Relevant H&S qualification.
Desirable
- Relevant transport qualification.
- Industry relevant qualification.
