Volunteers were responsible for starting CAT more than 50 years ago. Today they still form an invaluable part of the CAT family. Our volunteers help us to manage the site throughout the year, contributing to the upkeep of our gardens and woodlands and giving a helping hand in other key areas. Volunteering with us is an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and work experience, explore this beautiful area of Mid Wales and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, and meet a range of interesting and friendly new people all working together on solutions to the climate and biodiversity emergency.

Would you like to help bring wildflowers back to Andover with Andover Trees United? As part of The Disappearing Wildflower Project, our volunteer Nurturers care for wildflowers at Vigo Road Allotments and support community planting projects across the town. Volunteers help grow, plant, water, and maintain native wildflowers, creating habitats for pollinators and boosting local biodiversity. From seed sowing and propagation to supporting school and community projects, there are plenty of ways to get involved, learn new skills, meet people, and make a lasting difference for nature and the community.

Make Your Midweek Matter with TCV Hull & Humber! Got a few hours to spare during the week? Turn them into something amazing! Join our friendly team of midweek task volunteers and help transform local green spaces across Hull & Humber. From planting trees and creating wildlife habitats to improving parks and paths, every session is hands-on, outdoors, and full of feel-good impact. No experience? No problem! We provide guidance, tools, and plenty of encouragement – just bring your enthusiasm and a pair of sturdy shoes. It’s a great way to boost your wellbeing, meet new people, learn skills, and give back to nature.

Are you someone with an enthusiasm for DIY, or have past experience working in a trade or building? Then becoming a garden maintenance volunteer may be the perfect role for you! We are looking for volunteers to assist our gardens team with the presentation and maintenance of the built structures and facilities within the wider estate here at Osborne.

Are you passionate about plant growing, biodiversity, fostering a sense of community, and sowing the seeds of positive change? If so, we invite you to become a part of our Community nurseries team! As a Community Plant Nursery Volunteer with Chiltern Rangers you’ll be an essential part of our mission to nurture and propagate trees and wildflowers that will contribute to a greener, more sustainable environment and healthier communities.

By volunteering, you’ll have the opportunity to learn a range of valuable gardening skills, from planting and pruning to maintaining flower beds and understanding garden design. You’ll also gain knowledge in sustainable gardening practices, plant care, and landscape preservation – all while working in a unique, historic setting. No experience is needed, as our experienced team will provide all the training and support required.

Join us for free, weekly staff-led gardening sessions at the Meridian One Community Garden where you can help plant up our raised beds around the garden, sow seeds, as well as water, care for and harvest the produce which you can take home. It’s a great way to keep fit, feel connected to nature, learn new skills, and socialise outdoors whilst also greening up our local environment.

Use your green fingers to help our gardens grow! We have lots of garden-based opportunities at Osborne House. We have maintenance roles, helping to repair fences and manage our woodland, and nursery volunteers, helping us cultivate new plant collections. No prior experience required; we just need you to be excited by the outdoors, willing and able to get stuck into physical tasks and want to help us create something really special in our gardens at Osborne.

Would you like to spend some time outside, carry out some gardening tasks and help us take care of beds around the park? Typical tasks will include weeding, mulching, watering, preparing beds and planting. Some basic gardening skills would be useful, but are not essential, as direction can be given by staff and other volunteers in the group.

Carry out a wide variety of practical tasks to maintain and enhance Warwickshire Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves. Tasks will vary throughout the year, ranging from meadow and ride cutting in the summer to coppicing, tree felling and scrub clearance in the winter along with various construction projects, fencing, pond work and a range of other tasks.

As a Local Reserves Group Leader, you will lead a group of volunteers on one of our local nature reserves to carry out a variety of tasks throughout the year. This is a valuable resource for enabling volunteers to give their time over a weekend, when other opportunities are limited.

Griffin Fen is a privately owned 30 acre nature reserve. 1 or more volunteers are required to assist with general maintenance. Flexible times from 4 – 12 hours per week. Various opportunities exist.
