What it’s like to work here
Based amongst the spectacular Lake District fells, you'll enjoy a varied role, working across different locations with colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations to achieve the greatest impact. Employed by the National Trust on behalf of the Fix the Fells partnership, you'll work closely with colleagues from the National Trust, Lake District National Park Authority, Natural England, Lake District Foundation and Friends of the Lake District, helping to drive collaboration across the partnership.
What you’ll be doing

- You'll secure and grow funding of more than £500,000 each year, oversee programme finances and report progress to the Partnership Board, funders and other stakeholders.
- Working alongside National Trust and Lake District National Park Authority lead rangers, you'll support the delivery of the partnership's ambitions and help integrate Fix the Fells into the National Trust's Restore Nature strategy.
Who we’re looking for
We're looking for an inspiring environmental professional who enjoys bringing people together to achieve shared goals. You'll have:
- Experience of partnership working, income generation and supporting volunteers.
- An understanding of countryside management and the Lake District's natural and cultural heritage.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing projects, budgets and reporting on performance.
- The ability to work independently, think strategically and balance competing priorities.
Whilst this role doesn't currently have direct line management responsibility, you'll provide leadership and advocacy across the partnership, helping to build on 25 years of success while responding to the challenges of nature recovery and climate change.
