Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Nature Recovery Engagement Officer (Maternity Cover) to join our team at Wild Oxfordshire as we inspire and empower people across Oxfordshire to work together for nature’s recovery.

Do you have experience organising, facilitating, and delivering community engagement activities for local groups and organisations, including walks, talks, and workshops?

Responsibilities

  • Organise, facilitate, and deliver community engagement activities for local groups and organisations, including walks, talks, and workshops.
  • Inspire and empower people and communities to protect and enhance their natural environment and foster effective community engagement in local nature recovery.
  • Foster connections between people and nature through a variety of walks, talks, workshops, and activities throughout the year.
  • Role details
  • Location: Office base at Manor House, Little Wittenham, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, OX14 4RA; work location throughout Oxfordshire.

Hybrid role with an expectation to work in the rural office two days per week (Mondays and Tuesdays) for full-time arrangements.

  • Travel: Ability to travel to the office and rural locations independently.
  • Hours: 21 to 35 hours per week (3–5 days per week). Flexible arrangements considered; minimum 21 hours.
  • Duration: Fixed-term maternity cover for 12–15 months, ideally starting 1 October 2026.
  • Salary: £32,938 FTE for 35 hours per week. Part-time salary pro-rata (as of 1 April 2026).
  • Benefits: Pension with 9% Employer’s Contribution. 25 days leave (for full-time role) plus public holidays in England and Wales, and an additional three days between Christmas and New Year when the office is closed.
