Join Dartmoor National Park Authority and help tackle the climate and nature crises by delivering ambitious nature restoration projects across one of the UK's most iconic landscapes. Working as part of the Dartmoor Headwaters Programme, funded by the Environment Agency, you'll help restore rivers, peatlands and wetlands through natural flood management (NFM). The programme works with farmers, landowners and local communities to reduce flood risk, enhance biodiversity, improve carbon storage and create healthier landscapes.
The Role
As a Dartmoor Headwaters Officer, you will promote, develop and deliver NFM projects across priority catchments. Working closely with farmers, contractors and partner organisations, you'll oversee restoration projects from planning through to delivery and monitoring. You'll prepare specifications and tender documents, manage contractors, build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate the environmental and community benefits of the programme.
About You
You will have experience in natural flood management, catchment projects, wetland restoration, soils or other nature-based solutions. Equally important are excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work confidently with farmers, contractors and a wide range of stakeholders. Experience delivering environmental projects and building positive rural partnerships is highly desirable.
