Primary Purpose
The Store Custodian maintains a clean and safe working environment for staff and customers, ensuring that all areas are kept in excellent condition to support daily operations and a positive experience for everyone.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans lunch/break room.
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms.
- Dust mops sales floor area.
- Empties all trash cans under desk areas, in the office, and at the front of the store.
- Maintains outside walk areas, including sweeping debris and washing walkways.
- Some dusting as necessary.
- Removes recycling materials.
- Notifies store management when maintenance supplies are running low.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Professional etiquette and positive attitude in all communications, including phone and radio with associates and customers.
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area, and register area.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. repetitively.
- Standing, walking for long periods of time.
- Bending, carrying, and pushing.
- Must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment and to shift priorities accordingly.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
