We are looking for a Sous Chef to work for our well-established family-run pub group in The New Forest with 7 pubs across the area. You will be able to take plenty of pride in the role knowing that Country Inns has a reputation for some of the best food, drinks and service in The New Forest, this reputation has been built over the last 17 years. This Sous Chef position is a stepping stone to becoming Head Chef of one of our busy New Forest Pubs. The ideal candidate will be able to help achieve the targets and goals of the business and enjoy being part of a positive and friendly team. Role Requirements

  • Must have a passion and love for food.

  • Able to cover Head Chef on days off and holidays.
  • Own transport (no live in available).

Role Responsibilities

  • To assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of the menu.
  • To help maintain, clean, and use where necessary all kitchen equipment.
  • To maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen areas in line with current EHO standards.
  • To help create and operate an efficient rota of kitchen staff and cover within wage budgets.
  • To apply the necessary practices and procedures to maintain food safety protocols.
  • To be responsible for the running of the kitchen, its staff, and facilities in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • To assist in overseeing all kitchen operations including staff training.
