We’re looking for a Part-Time Maintenance Assistant / Wedding Porter to join our team at Leez Priory, helping keep our stunning wedding venue in excellent condition and ready for every event. This is a hands-on, varied role combining general maintenance with event support, playing a key part in delivering a seamless experience for our wedding couples and guests.

Hours: Part-time, weekends on rota + call-outs as required

Key Responsibilities

  • General Maintenance
    • Carry out daily checks to ensure the smooth operation of the building, grounds, and equipment
    • Complete basic repairs including painting, decorating, and general DIY tasks
    • Monitor and maintain essential systems (e.g. drains, bins, gas/kerosene levels, bio units)
  • Event & Venue Support
    • Support wedding and events teams with room setup and turnaround
    • Move furniture and equipment as required for events
    • Assist housekeeping, bar, and operations teams where needed
  • Venue Presentation & Safety
    • Maintain high standards across all public areas, ensuring the venue remains clean, tidy, and presentable
    • Promote guest safety by placing signage (e.g. wet floors, maintenance areas)
    • Carry out checks to ensure a safe environment at all times
  • Specialist Tasks
    • Assist with hot tub cleaning and maintenance to ensure a high-quality guest experience

About You

  • Practical and hands-on with strong DIY/maintenance skills
  • Physically able to move furniture and support event setup; proactive, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining high standards
  • A strong team player with good communication skills
  • Flexible and happy to support across departments when needed
