We are thrilled to announce that Lanes Group and Sapphire Utility Solutions have secured contract extensions with Severn Trent Water. As trusted delivery partners, we will continue providing proactive and reactive wastewater solutions across their network, supporting them through the AMP8 regulatory period. We are recruiting for a Repair and Maintenance Manager to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across the Midlands area. About The Role
The Repair and Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing remote operational teams across a geographical area, driving and managing operational performance through effective leadership and management of your teams. You will ensure teams are productive, have the skills to deliver all work efficiently, and that health, safety and wellbeing are at the forefront of everyone’s mind. You will continually strive to improve customer service by delivering same‑day solutions to customer issues, and you will coach resources to deliver efficient solutions for both the customer and the environment. Each day brings a fresh challenge, but safe working, quality delivery and a strong customer focus are at the heart of everything you do.
Location: West Shropshire and Stafford
Responsibilities
- Issuing daily work packages
- Monitoring safety and compliance on site
- Approving and checking daily Risk and Method Statements
- Carrying out cat downloads
- Undertaking safety, compliance and quality audits
- Dealing with customer complaints positively
- Toolbox talks
- Managing other resources (e.g., reinstatement, materials and plant)
- Working with the scheduling team to ensure programmes are managed and delivered
- Helping manage the defect programme and ensure KPIs are met; Highway Meetings attended
- Liaising with the Support Services and Streetworks Team to manage FPN and Section 74 liabilities
- Completing team inspections to maintain high compliance with a focus on quality and first‑time reinstatement
Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Maintain full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality (HSEQ) regulations, ensuring site activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Severn Trent Water standards
- Conduct and oversee regular risk assessments, audits and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions where necessary
- Promote a strong safety culture across all operational teams, reinforcing adherence to safe working practices
Customer Experience & Engagement
- Ensure minimal disruption to customers and communities while conducting survey activities
- Coordinate with customer liaison teams to provide clear communication and engagement where access is required
- Ensure project teams are briefed on customer concerns to maintain a positive perception of Severn Trent Water
