Position: Field Manager
Location: Beckton Sewage Treatment Works, North London Region (Ilford, East London)
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, plus on-call rota – start times to be discussed
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending upon experience

About The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager for the North London Region, you will lead a team of multi-skilled waste network service engineers in delivering both reactive and planned 24/7 operational responses. Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out site inspections
- Coordinating field engineers
- Managing fleet issues
- Evaluating employee performance
- Liaising with office planners/team leaders
- Conducting one-to-ones
- Monitoring engineers’ performances
- Assisting the client with high-profile jobs
- Looking after the wellbeing of field staff
- Adhering to Lanes Group policies
- Performing any other reasonable ad hoc duties as requested
About You
The ideal candidate will be hardworking, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards. Previous management and leadership experience is crucial, as is a full UK driver’s licence. Knowledge of the utilities sector, especially drainage and wastewater, will be advantageous. Being able to prioritise and multitask while building working relationships is essential.
