In this critical role, you will ensure our organisation is known for being the best in everything we do, leaving a legacy of absolute quality and compliance, and keeping our promises at all times. We operate 24/7, requiring flexible hours, weekends, and participation in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes' high standard of operation.
Individuals working as technical specialists are responsible for:
- Analysing and providing solutions to technical drainage issues
- Providing technical support to other departments and operatives
- Supervising work processes and ensuring health and safety
- Advising operatives on all aspects of day-to-day duties
- Liaising with Network Engineers and Thames Water's operational team
- Liaising with planners and schedulers
- Pollution tracing
- Enabling works
- Auditing and compliance checks
- Checking competency of new starters
- Being aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
- Any other reasonable adhoc tasks, duties or projects requested by management
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards. Previous drainage experience is crucial, as is a full UK driver's licence. Communication skills and the ability to build relationships and networking skills are key. Prioritising and multitasking are fundamental skills required in the role.
