We’re looking for a confident and experienced Head Waiter to join the team at The Wild Duck, one of the Cotswolds’ most loved and characterful pubs. Set in the village of Ewen, just outside Cirencester, The Wild Duck is known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful setting, and a food offering built around seasonal British produce and bold, honest cooking.
This is a role for someone who understands that great service is about more than taking orders — it’s about creating a feeling, reading the room, and leading a team to deliver consistently excellent hospitality.
The Role – Head Waiter
As Head Waiter, you’ll be a key presence on the floor — leading service, supporting the team, and ensuring every guest has a seamless and memorable experience. You’ll bring energy, confidence, and a calm authority, setting the tone for service and helping to maintain high standards across the board.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading service and supporting the front of house team during busy shifts
- Ensuring guests receive warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service
- Acting as a point of contact for both guests and team members
- Supporting with training and development of junior team members
- Working closely with the kitchen to ensure smooth, coordinated service
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and attention to detail
