Hours: Monday - Friday 40 hours a week

Salary: £32,000 to £40,000 per annum

What will you be doing day to day?

As a Nursery Manager, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the nursery operations and compliance, building and leading a brilliant team, as well as driving exceptionally high standards throughout. This role requires a depth of knowledge in Early Years education to lead and deliver outstanding education opportunities for all. A passion for delivering the highest standard of customer service, commercial intuition, and team development is together, what creates the environment we are building. With the child at the center of everything we do in a warm, fun, and ‘love of learning’ setting, where both children and adults can dream big.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that align with regulatory requirements and Ofsted expectations to ensure that these are maintained at all times to enable best practices.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate nursery staff members to ensure they meet the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to learn through play-based activities.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to understand their child's individual needs, provide regular updates on their progress, and address any concerns or questions.
  • Oversee the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, enrolment, health records, incident reports, and other necessary documentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within an early childhood education setting.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early years education.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, staff members, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead a team by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A relevant qualification in early childhood education (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., Ofsted) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of budgets.

Desirable:

  • Relevant degree level qualification, Early Years Professional Status; knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach, Forest School, and Montessori Early Education; knowledge of the Eat Better Start Better program for Under 5's; knowledge of the EYFS.
  • A track record of providing excellent Early Years education with children at the heart of all you do.
  • Evidence of leading a team at different points in their career, you can demonstrate skills in staff development and supervision.
