Hours: Nights, 22 Hours per week, working weekends on rota (1900-0700 Shift Times).
The Laurels Care Home is situated in the peaceful village of Draycott, 2 miles from Cheddar at the foot of the Mendips Hills. With just 21 beds, our caring and compassionate team led by the Manager, get to know each resident personally, meaning they feel truly at home at The Laurels.

About The Senior Care Assistant Role
Within your role as a Senior Care Assistant, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Aiding residents emotional well-being and social needs
- Administration and monitoring of medications to residents
- Supporting residents at meals time
- Mentor & assist new employees
- Implement, monitor and review care plans to meet residents specific needs
- Plan, allocate & supervise the work of the team of care assistants

About You

Experience as a Senior Care Assistant & leading a team:
- Have a friendly & caring attitude
- Experience of administering medication
- Able to engage well with the residents and their families
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care or willing to work towards this
- Great communication skills, both written & verbal
