Hours: Days, 44 Hours per week, working weekends on rota.
The Laurels Care Home is situated in the peaceful village of Draycott, 2 miles from Cheddar at the foot of the Mendips Hills. With just 21 beds, our caring and compassionate team led by the Manager, get to know each resident personally, meaning they feel truly at home at The Laurels.
About The Senior Care Assistant Role
Within your role as a Senior Care Assistant, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Aiding residents' emotional well-being and social needs.
- Administration and monitoring of medications to residents.
- Supporting residents at meal times.
- Mentoring & assisting new employees.
- Implementing, monitoring and reviewing care plans to meet residents' specific needs.
- Planning, allocating & supervising the work of the team of care assistants.

About You
We want someone proactive, passionate, and ambitious to support us to create the best person-centred environment for our residents. You’ll be genuinely valued and empowered as an integral part of our team.
- Experience as a Senior Care Assistant & leading a team.
- Have a friendly & caring attitude.
- Experience of administering medication.
- Able to engage well with the residents and their families.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or willing to work towards this.
- Great communication skills, both written & verbal.
