Job overview

Working Part time: 12 hours per week. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable DVT Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will provide expert assessment, diagnosis support, and management for patients with suspected or confirmed Deep Vein Thrombosis. You will play a key part in ensuring timely, safe, and evidence-based care while offering guidance to patients, families, and clinical colleagues.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for patients with suspected DVT.
  • Interpret diagnostic results (e.g., Doppler ultrasound, blood tests) and assist in developing treatment plans.
  • Initiate and monitor anticoagulation therapy in line with clinical guidelines.
  • Educate patients on treatment options, medication adherence, risk reduction, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Liaise with physicians, radiology, pharmacy, and other teams to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to audit and quality-improvement activities.
  • Provide expert advice to junior staff and participate in ongoing training and development programs.
  • Support thrombosis prevention initiatives across the organisation.
