Position Overview
Working full time: 40 hours per week. Fixed term: 6 months starting August 2026. An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated team player to join our well‑established Breast and General Surgery Department at The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an ST3+ to join the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in an on‑call rota.
- Admit and manage cases under the direction of appropriate consultants.
- Conduct ward investigations and provide pre‑ and post‑operative care.
- Arrange theatre lists and participate in operative surgery, with involvement commensurate with experience and ability.
- Assist at Breast Surgery outpatient clinics.
- Attend rolling half days and take part in audit and case presentation.
- Maintain mandatory log books of surgical operations performed (Log Book for RCS England).
- Explore research opportunities where suitable and of interest.
Requirements
- Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practice.
- ST3+ level clinical experience.
- Team‑working attitude and commitment to high‑standard teaching and professional development.
