Role Overview

Working Part time: 6 session hours per week. We are looking to recruit a Substantive Consultant in Rheumatology. This is a part‑time appointment working 3 days in Rheumatology, a growing department with a dynamic and flexible team of enthusiastic consultants and specialist practitioners. We have a well‑established Early Arthritis Clinic, Trans‑Adolescent Clinic and sub‑speciality clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for a mixed pool of patient referrals from the community.
  • Provide care for a mixed pool of patient referrals across specialties, both urgent and routine.
  • Lead on admission prevention via collaboration with the SDEC and emergency medicine department.
  • Additional specialist interest considerations are welcome.

Qualifications

Applicants should ideally be on the GMC Specialist Register for Rheumatology or be within six months of their CCT date at interview.

Locations

  • The Countess of Chester Hospital – 473 general and acute beds.
  • Ellesmere Port Hospital – 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
  • Tarporley War Memorial Hospital – base for community services serving the local rural population.
