A Consultant Paediatrician is sought to join the Neurodevelopmental Team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The role is part‑time (8.5 programmed sessions per week) and offers flexibility for job sharing or reduced hours if desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care as part of a wider paediatric workforce that includes 13 Consultant General Paediatricians and a range of other medical professionals.
- Tailor role and responsibilities to meet individual and evolving service needs.
- Collaborate with a broad range of professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Specialist Nurses, Health Visitors, and School Nursing teams.
- Engage in community work and liaison with Local Authority teams (Local Education Authority and Social Care) and voluntary sector organisations.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and participate in clinical networks with Consultants at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Working Arrangements
The service operates across three locations: Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. The post holder will allocate sessions across these sites in line with service requirements.
Qualifications
Qualified in paediatrics with the appropriate NHS consultant accreditation. Experience in neurodevelopmental paediatrics is preferred.
