Applications are invited for a new Consultant post in General Surgery. The successful candidate will be a full-time appointment in General & Colorectal Surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • General surgical case management with a sub-specialty interest in Colorectal Surgery; expertise in the management of advanced colorectal cancer and clinical/academic research are highly desirable.
  • Participation in a Consultant Surgeon of the Week (CSOW) rota and on-call rota (1 in 11 following appointment).
  • Work within the department of colorectal surgery, which deals with benign colorectal disease, colorectal cancer, and the full range of colorectal surgery including benign proctology, pelvic floor and inflammatory bowel disorders.

Locations:

  • The Countess of Chester Hospital: 473 general and acute beds
  • Ellesmere Port Hospital: 60 beds (rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility)
  • Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: base for community services serving the local rural population

About the Trust:

The Trust's services are provided from three locations and are part of the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System. The Trust works closely with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and treats patients from England and some parts of Wales.
