Information About The Role
The National Border Targeting Centre (NBTC) is the sole 24/7 Passenger Information Unit (PIU) for the UK. It is responsible for countering the known and unknown threat at the UK border and is designated as one of the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure Sites.

Information About The Role
The National Border Targeting Centre (NBTC) is the sole 24/7 Passenger Information Unit (PIU) for the UK. It is responsible for countering the known and unknown threat at the UK border and is designated as one of the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure Sites.
The NBTC comprises of officers and staff from Counter Terrorism Policing, UK Border Force, and the National Crime Agency, all of whom have specific responsibilities. Each agency will consider traveller data across all modes, which is evaluated against numerous law enforcement databases, prior to issuing a response based upon their individual guidance.
The role of CT Police within NBTC includes the dissemination of fast time alerts for intervention before or during travel, research within e-Borders data on behalf of investigators and the provision of guidance to Forces and other crime and Partners.
