Information about the role

We currently have Police Constable Operator opportunities available where you will be working as part of the CT Policing Team at the National Border Targeting Centre (NBTC) based in Wythenshawe.

This is a unique and interesting role where you will be responsible for notifying policing colleagues at the UK border when subjects of interest are entering or leaving the UK.

This tactic is one of many options that can be employed by the NBTC who work in conjunction with security services and police forces to support investigators, identify previously unknown people and apprehend those who seek to use the border to evade detection.

NBTC operates on a 24/7 basis housing Counter Terrorism Policing, UK Border Force, and the National Crime Agency. Your role will include countering the known and unknown threat at the UK border, liaising with security services and issuing alerts to borders officers for a decision to be made on interdiction.

The team are also responsible for a number of other functions which include the issuing of Port Alert Orders for Safeguarding matters, support to major investigations and CT Policing HQ for National Operations which impact the UK borders.

You will work as part of a small well-established team on a 6-week shift roster and will receive full training to ensure you are confident and capable in your role.
