At Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) our purpose is clear โ to keep people safe from terrorism. To do this we are constantly evolving, developing new and innovative ways to counter the ever-shifting terrorist threat.
Central to this is our Business Design practice who combine strategy, organisation design, and management consulting expertise to help define the future shape of CTP and drive transformational change. The Business Design practice is growing and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with the right blend of critical thinking, creativity, insight, agility and enthusiasm to join this forward-thinking community of problem solvers.

What is the job role and purpose?
As a Business Design Analyst, you will leverage new technologies, varied datasets, and specialist operational knowledge to undertake detailed analyses and develop evidence-based solutions to some of CTP's most complex challenges. You will collaborate and build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders from across the public sector, playing a pivotal role in reacting and reshaping the countryโs CT approach.
Where will you fit in the design team structure?
The Business Design practice has three levels of experience, with a focus on development and career progression:
- Entry โ Junior Business Design Analyst (Band D)
- Experienced โ Business Design Analyst (Band C)
- Senior โ Business Design Lead (Band B)
Joining this role will not only unlock opportunities within this team, but also across the wider opportunities within Counter Terrorism Policing.
What will be your key roles and responsibilities?
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to define organisational problems, design appropriate solutions, and determine the impact of both on CTP's operating model.
- Support the translation of complex organisational problems and solutions into simple compelling narratives that achieve broad business consensus.
- Lead in the organisation of workshops, stakeholder engagement and other relevant meetings and boards.
- Proactively assist in maturing the business design practice, expanding your own and others' skillset, providing assurance, and developing new approaches.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis to support evidence-based decision-making and risk management.
- Experience of undertaking analytical activity using formal methodologies and approaches, including collecting and analysing complex or incomplete data in order to provide concise and meaningful recommendations.
- Solutions-oriented, innovative, forward-thinking approach to complex challenges.
- Experience of building confidence with various stakeholders, managing expectations and dealing with conflicting requirements and priorities.
