The starting salary is £48,995, which includes allowances totalling £3,009. The breakdown is £45,986 basic salary, increasing annually to £54,863, plus a £2,009 location allowance and a £1,000 non-pensionable allowance.

Job Summary: For Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP), delivering projects is about keeping millions of people safe across the UK. The Portfolio Management Office supports a portfolio of projects and programmes that help better protect our country. This role is part of the Change Portfolio team and involves managing a complex portfolio of projects and programmes across national and London Counter Terrorism & Protective Security portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysing information and providing recommendations in accessible formats.
  • Organising and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Meeting deadlines and prioritising workload effectively.
  • Communicating confidently with people at all levels.
  • Facilitating groups of people to reach outcomes.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Automate project, programme and portfolio reporting cycles, with knowledge of presenting trends and analysis.
  • Develop and establish automated controls, tools and templates for portfolio management.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to promote adherence to standards.
  • Understand and use Power Apps such as Power BI to automate ways of working, streamline processes and eliminate duplication.
  • Apply programme and project methodologies (e.g., Prince2, MSP, Agile, Management of Risk).

Experience:

  • Experience in a (local) government, security agency or policing environment.
  • Line managerial experience or coaching/mentoring role.

Vetting: This post requires access to sensitive intelligence material. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) before taking up the post, with willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) if required. British nationality is required; some dual nationals may be ineligible. Additional security checks apply for travel to certain countries.
