Salary: The starting salary is £46,985, which includes allowances totalling £3,009. The salary is broken down as £43,976 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £49,670. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Completed applications must be submitted by 23:55 on 30 March 2026. This role is part of the NaCTSO Professional Capability portfolio. It will focus on the development of training products. There will be a requirement to assist in training delivery where there is an operational need.

The Licensing and Accreditation Training Development Officer will ensure the consistent development and delivery of all NaCTSO training, including the training of Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSA), Counter Terrorism Awareness Advisors (CTAA) and Counter Terrorism (CT) Prepare resources throughout the CT network. This includes ensuring that the accreditation of resources is conducted in accordance with external verification requirements (e.g. the requirements set by an OfQual recognised Awarding Body). In addition to this, the role may require the development of training and accreditation of lead government departments and the private sector.

Due to the nature of this work, this role requires knowledge in protective security and preparedness.

Key Tasks
  • Supporting training, licensing and accreditation. This will include the development of NaCTSO training and accreditation material.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure NaCTSO training products contain accurate and up to date information.
  • The production of reports in line with an evidence based policing approach.
  • Assess CPD evidence submissions to ensure they achieve the required standard.
  • Support all relevant CT Protect and Prepare personnel in the compilation of CPD and licensing requirements.
  • Support the delivery of NaCTSO training products.
  • Engage with the CTSA, CTAA and CT Prepare network through a series of national and regional meetings/workshops.
  • Maintain effective communication between NaCTSO and regional resources.
  • Support Line management requests as required.

The post holder should have experience in delivering training, ideally linked to wider Counter Terrorism type work.

  • Knowledge of protective security and preparedness.
  • Experience in writing and delivering training.
  • Experience of assessing and/or quality assurance of training and/or evidence submitted for CPD or qualifications.
  • Commitment to flexibility, to be able to travel around the UK.
  • Qualified Counter Terrorism Security Advisor or CT Security Coordinator.
  • Experience of working with an OfQual-approved awarding body.
  • Knowledge or experience of training design and/or delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience of business continuity, resilience and emergency planning.
  • Working within Counter Terrorism, ports policing, exercising, emergency and contingency planning and protective security.
  • Experience in formulating and implementing policy.
  • Managing projects at local, regional or national level.
  • SC vetted or willing to undergo and maintain this clearance.
  • Willingness to support the NCPP On Call Function where required based on operational necessity.
  • Competency in IT applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Competency in public speaking and audience presentations.
