Information about the role

Working as part of a team, the successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties across the estate. This will consist of cleaning offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, welfare areas, custody facilities and forensic areas. Full training will be given which complies with the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS) and Manual Handling. You will also assist in the movement of furnishings, deliveries, confidential waste and ensure meeting rooms and our conference centre are correctly laid out for use.

Responsibilities

  • Damp dusting furniture, fixtures and furnishings, suction cleaning and wet mopping floors and stairwells, washing walls, and other vertical surfaces and tiled areas up to a height of 3.5m (11ft) using high level cleaning equipment.
  • Cleaning kitchens and welfare areas including cleaning and defrosting refrigerators, cleaning inside units and cupboards.
  • Removal of waste and confidential waste to central waste collection points (bins, skips etc.).
  • Follow specific cleaning specifications to enable safe cleaning across the site.
  • Maintaining cleaning equipment and reporting any faulty equipment.
  • Reporting any maintenance defects that are noted in the building.
  • Cleaning of external areas such as car parks and clearing ground level drains and gullies.
  • Undertake learning and carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose and grading of the post.
