Paying £80,000 – £90,000 plus bonus and excellent wider benefits, this is a key leadership role within a forward-thinking manufacturing environment. You’ll take ownership of core accounting operations, lead an established finance team, and act as a true business partner helping to shape the strategic direction and continued growth of the business.
Main Duties:
- Taking ownership of the finance function, supported by a fantastic FD.
- Leading and developing a medium sized finance team, setting clear career pathways and structured development plans.
- Owning the monthly management accounts and ensuring timely, accurate reporting to the wider group.
- Producing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, with particular focus on manufacturing-specific reporting.
- Working alongside the Commercial Finance Manager to build budgets and forecasts, including detailed manufacturing cost insight.
- Delivering insightful variance analysis against budget and forecast to support commercial decision-making.
- Guiding customer credit limit decisions and managing working capital, escalating to the Finance Director where appropriate.
- Driving continuous improvement across the finance function and tracking progress through meaningful KPIs.
- Carrying out regular cost analysis to uncover savings and operational efficiencies.
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including more complex and sensitive areas.
- Coordinating with external and group auditors through the year-end process and meeting statutory reporting deadlines.
- Embedding robust internal controls to ensure compliance with industry regulation and company policy.
- Processing payroll and bonus journals within the ERP system and reconciling the related balance sheet accounts.
Location / Office / Culture:
This role is based at the company’s Malvern facility, where you’ll work closely with your finance team and engage with leaders across the wider business. Some travel to other site locations may be required on occasion. You’ll join a fast-paced, growing environment that genuinely values commercial insight and continuous improvement, with the chance to make a real impact on how the business operates.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with broad experience across different types of business.
- Strong people and management skills, with the confidence to communicate and influence across all departments.
- A strategic mindset, paired with the hands-on ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Experience reporting for complex entities, with knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP an advantage.
