About the Business

An opportunity to be a Financial Reporting Accountant for a Listed/PLC business in Birmingham City Centre. It’s a new, modern business with a great team and great reputation. This role will help drive decision-making for the wider group.

Main Duties:

  • The role focuses on producing accurate financial reports, overseeing statutory accounts, supporting audit activity, and maintaining an effective controls framework.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements in line with FRS 101 requirements.
  • Deliver month-end reporting outputs, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure alignment with group accounting policies and applicable IFRS standards.
  • Act as the main contact for external auditors, coordinating the audit process from planning through to completion.
  • Respond to audit queries and ensure all required documentation is provided in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring processes are clearly documented and regularly reviewed.
  • Manage tax reporting obligations, ensuring submissions are accurate and completed within deadlines.
  • Provide technical accounting input on complex areas.
