Senior Software Engineer – Product at Count

Count is a fast‑growing team on a mission to reimagine analytics and make data accessible to all. We build the Count canvas, a data notebook combined with a collaborative workflow, often described as the “Figma for data”. Since launching in September 2022 we have empowered some of Europe’s leading tech companies to revolutionize how teams understand and work with data.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for experienced software engineers to tackle deep technical challenges in data analytics. As an early hire, you’ll work closely with the founders to shape the future direction for Count and ship entire features independently. You’ll collaborate with the team and user base on business‑critical projects.

  • Expand what users can do with AI agents for data exploration in canvases
  • Add new data sources, including non‑SQL sources
  • Extend interactivity and customizability of visualizations
  • Improve performance and reliability of DuckDB queries on our servers or in the browser
  • Implement a stateful backend for Python cells

We’d Love to Hear From You If You

  • Have at least 4 years of professional experience shipping features as a full‑stack engineer
  • Have worked in a high‑growth startup
  • Love inventing solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Are driven by a passion to create amazing user experiences
  • Can work autonomously and take responsibility for delivery of large projects
  • Enjoy learning from others and collaborating on learning initiatives
  • Want to shape the future of data analytics and visualization

Interview Process

  • An initial discussion (30‑45 mins) for you to learn about Count and for us to learn about you
  • A working session with two engineers (90‑120 mins) where we dive into the stack and work through a recent technical challenge
  • A final meeting with the founders (45‑60 mins)

The working session and final meeting will be either virtual or in London, depending on your location.
