We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join a successful and growing engineering operation delivering complex projects within the food processing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly skilled team managing full “inception to completion” turnkey engineering projects across the UK and internationally. Projects currently span across Europe, the USA, the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.

The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from initial handover through to final commissioning and client sign-off, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.

The Role

Working closely with an established team of Project Engineers, Design, Compliance, and Logistics professionals, you will lead and manage multiple engineering projects throughout their full lifecycle. You will be responsible for coordinating timelines, customer communication, supplier management, technical approvals, commercial tracking, installation supervision, commissioning, and project handover. This role requires a proactive individual with strong self‑motivation, commercial awareness, and the ability to drive projects through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project timelines from inception through to completion
  • Conduct detailed site surveys and establish project requirements with customers
  • Manage equipment layouts and design approval processes
  • Coordinate suppliers, tendering, negotiations, and purchasing activities
  • Produce and interpret project documentation including P&IDs and PFDs
  • Monitor project costs, invoicing schedules, and variations
  • Deliver project reporting internally and externally
  • Manage equipment inspections, quality checks, and certification processes
  • Coordinate shipping and logistics activities
  • Lead on‑site installation, commissioning, training, and final handover
  • Supervise contractors and engineering teams during installation phases
  • Ensure projects are delivered fully commissioned, snag‑free, and signed off against KPIs
  • On larger projects, lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams and oversee CDM compliance

Travel & Working Pattern

75% office‑based 25% site‑based. Site work may involve UK and international travel, including occasional extended installation periods planned well in advance. Flexibility and willingness to travel are essential.

We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background and excellent project management capability.

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • HNC/HND qualified in Engineering or above preferred
  • Previous experience within food processing or industrial engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of machinery processes and engineering design
  • Excellent organisational and commercial awareness
  • Hands‑on engineering mindset with strong problem‑solving ability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to project delivery and travel
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD preferred)
