Job Title: CNC Turner / Programmer (2-Axis) – Late Shift | Permanent Position Salary: £37,000 – £41,000 per annum (depending on experience) Additional Earnings: Including late shift premium (time plus one-third) – approximately £49,321 – £54,653 per annum Location: Leighton Buzzard We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a long-established manufacturer specializing in the production of low-volume, high-precision tubular and threaded components for sectors including Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Defense. As they continue to expand their engineering team, Coulter Elite Resourcing is seeking a skilled CNC Turner / Programmer to join their late shift team and contribute to their reputation for quality and precision. Are you an experienced CNC Turner seeking a stable, well-established manufacturing environment? What You’ll Do: * Set up, program, and operate 2-axis CNC turning machines with minimal supervision. * Write and edit CNC programs manually at the machine to ensure accurate machining and productivity. * Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to meet tight tolerances and surface finish standards. * Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools and equipment to uphold quality standards. * Handle various production runs, from prototypes to low/medium volume high-precision parts in different materials, including metals. * Adjust cutting parameters such as speeds and feeds based on material and part requirements. * Complete machine setup, including material selection, tooling, and tooling offsets. * Utilize knowledge of G-codes and Fanuc controls (or similar) to optimize machining processes. * Operate lifting equipment and hoists (training provided) for handling parts ranging from small to large sizes (¢25mm x 100mm up to ¢300mm x 3m). What We’re Looking For: * Proven, time-served experience in programming, setting, and operating 2-axis CNC turning machines. * Ability to write CNC programs manually at the machine with little supervision. * Experience with Fanuc controls and ‘Manual Guide i’ software is advantageous. * Knowledge of G-code programming and editing prewritten programs. * Strong understanding of machine setup, tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds. * Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. * Background working within a manufacturing or machine shop environment. * Self-motivated, quality-focused, and positive attitude to quickly adapt and contribute. * Comfortable working with a variety of part sizes and lifting equipment (training provided).
