Salary: £26,000 – £28,000

Hours: Full-Time, Office-based, Monday to Friday

Location: Cambridgeshire, just outside of Peterborough

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and reputable law firm, who are looking to appoint a Legal Secretary within their Private Client department. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Private Client setting and will be confident liaising directly with clients. Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and empathy are essential to ensure a high standard of client care is maintained at all times.

Key responsibilities

  • You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to our Private Client department, assisting with wills, probate, and related matters.
  • This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is proactive, organised, and happy to support the wider office when needed.
  • Audio and digital dictation
  • Preparing and amending legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing files, client records, and confidential information
  • Liaising with clients and third parties professionally
  • General administrative support to fee earners
  • Covering reception duties during lunch periods when required

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Ideally have Private Client or legal experience
  • Confident in using digital dictation systems
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and work well within a team
  • Professional, reliable, and well organised
  • Fast, accurate typing ability
  • Experience of using case management system.
  • IT literacy – Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook / Digital Audio software / Case Management.
