Job title: Head of Learning for A-Level & Applied Science
Reporting to: Headteacher – Coulsdon Campus
Responsible for: Deputy Heads of learning, Teaching Staff
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Annual Leave: 37 days, plus bank holidays

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our great college group at the Coulsdon sixth form campus as Head of Learning for A-level and Applied Science. The role will lead on developing and implementing strategies to raise standards across the provision and consolidate improvement. Current priorities include: attendance; 16-18 outcomes at levels 2 and 3; stretch and challenge, ensuring students are fully prepared for external assessment, meaningful opportunities for students to participate in work experience and work related activities; and the development of students\\\’ English and maths skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead on developing and implementing strategies to raise standards across the provision and consolidate improvement.
- Focus on attendance, outcomes for 16-18 learners at levels 2 and 3, stretch and challenge, and preparation for external assessment.
- Provide meaningful opportunities for work experience and work-related activities.
- Develop students\\\’ English and maths skills.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of using quality improvement frameworks and quality assurance processes.
- Recent experience of carrying out formal observations of teaching and learning with a positive and impactful feedback process.
- Ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; excellent oral and written communication and coaching skills.
- Proven track record in managing delivery of A-level provision with successful outcomes for students; ability to inspire students to take responsibility for their performance and behaviours to progress and excel.
