We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pattern Maker and Seamstress to join our team at our London office. In this role, you will be responsible for creating patterns, sewing prototypes, and producing garments that meet our brand's standards of quality and design.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and create garment patterns based on design specifications, sketches, and technical drawings.
- Collaborate with the design team to understand design concepts, fit requirements, and construction techniques.
- Interpret and adjust patterns to achieve desired fit, silhouette, and proportions.
- Sew prototypes and sample garments using industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
- Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to patterns and samples for fit, style, and construction.
- Produce production-ready patterns and sewing instructions for mass production.
- Monitor and maintain pattern archives and sewing resources, ensuring accuracy and organisation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and technologies related to pattern making and garment construction.
- Proven experience as a Pattern Maker and Seamstress in the fashion industry.
- Proficiency in pattern making, pattern grading, and garment construction techniques.
- Strong sewing skills with experience using industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
- Excellent understanding of garment fit, draping, and construction principles.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interpret design concepts and instructions.
- Knowledge of garment production processes and experience working with manufacturers is a plus.
- Fashion design or pattern making certification is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education or certification in fashion design, pattern making, or garment construction is preferred.
