Role Overview
As a Deployed Customer Engineer (DCE), you serve as a technical partner between Couchbase’s engineering excellence and our customers’ ambitious business goals. You write production-grade code, design high‑performance database architectures, and ensure our platform powers the heart of mission‑critical, AI‑driven applications. Your work accelerates customer outcomes by delivering strategic solutioning and embedding within customer engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build real‑world implementations and pilot solutions.
- Develop clean, scalable code to integrate Couchbase with customer ecosystems.
- Configure Couchbase Server, Capella (DBaaS), and Mobile products for optimal latency, throughput, and reliability.
- Design and implement advanced data architectures, including Vector Search and RAG patterns for AI applications.
- Integrate directly with customer development teams, participating in sprints and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed systems issues, performance bottlenecks, and deployment hurdles.
- Translate business requirements into technical milestones to deliver rapid Time‑to‑Value.
- Act as a conduit between the field and Product/Engineering teams, providing product feedback and advocating for feature enhancements.
- Partner with Solution Engineers to identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
- Author technical best‑practice documentation.
Community Impact: Contribute reusable code, connectors, utilities, or documentation to the Couchbase ecosystem.
Expansion: Identify and validate at least two new use cases within strategic accounts.
