Reporting to the SVP Brand & Equity, the role of Creative Strategy Snr Director, Consumer Beauty will be fully responsible for leading creative strategy across the iconic brands within the CB portfolio: across Color cosmetics and Mass scenting. This is a hybrid role, half strategist half creative.

The Creative Strategy Snr Director – Consumer Beauty might need to write a headline one day, write a compelling pithy presentation the next, a script the next, and think through what the cultural springboard is for a brand or a campaign. Or take the SVP’s place in a creative review to ensure the work is clear, effective and impactful, and refined until delivery. All while taking pressure off the SVP to free up focus for higher-level priorities.

COTY is a challenger brand; work is intense and entrepreneurial. It is agile and fast. Immediacy and hands on attitude is critical. Autonomy is pivotal. Please note that whilst this position will be based in our Wimbledon Office, we do offer a flexible Omni-working policy which means that up to 50% of your hours will be based from the office and the remaining 50% of your hours can be remote.

The role:

  • Leading Creative strategy across the iconic brands within the Consumer Beauty portfolio.
  • A unicorn with the ability to write disruptive creative strategy, borne of consumer insight, and concept ideas with the creatives.
  • Critical ability to write in a pithy and provocative way, with fearless clarity.
  • Partner with the creative teams to enable disruptive thinking, ideas and execution – helping generate vital creative thought starters which can be further developed.
  • Pivotal ability to help teams (creative and brand) ‘see’ the idea amongst the clutter of creative development; articulating, expanding, and presenting storytelling in a way that becomes unmissable and strategically flawless.
  • Develop product claims (both traditional and contemporary) to create something innovative that the world cannot miss!
  • Responsible for creative strategy across color cosmetics, personal care, nail and mass scenting/fragrance.
  • Social first thinker - with the ability to brand build in the new Meta-led landscape our brands now live in.
  • Connected to global culture, knowledgeable. GLOBAL - this is global business. Must be well versed in US beauty, as well as European beauty.
  • A realist - not precious – if it doesn’t work or is too highbrow, move on!
  • Hand-On. Not a floater waiting for others to action.

What you’ll bring:

  • 15+ years experience in an agency/in-house brand creative strategist.
  • Global in outlook TikTok and socially savvy.
  • Consumer first thinker.
  • Ability to co-create with the SVP Brand & Equity, the creative teams, third parties and the brand teams within a highly collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of hierarchy with both multifunctional partners and with external stakeholders.
  • A ‘roll the sleeves up do-er’ not a floater. We are an entrepreneurial set of people that think and do, and we do it fast.
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure.
  • Agile and adaptable as the business and brand environment changes daily.
  • Experienced in the new beauty world - not the old traditional world.
  • A good beauty aesthete - this person needs judgment and an eye. They will take responsibility for the work being on brand, on strategy and effective (passing IPSOS tests, and driving in market growth).

Required skills:

  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
  • Digitally literate and culturally plugged in.
  • Well versed in UK/EU/Global mass consumer beauty universes (color cosmetics and fragrance).
  • Ability to work in an international business context.
