Our manufacturing site, located in Ashford, is the home of engineers, scientists, technicians, and product developers. Being the starting point of the UK&I supply chain, it’s where the magic happens! RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ashford site is a diverse environment requiring the Health, Safety and Environment Leader to build capabilities while integrating the HSE program with high attention to detail. The role leads and engages to embed HS&E culture, ensuring all persons accessing and working on site will know, follow and respect the behavioural rules and statutory laws in order to protect themselves and others.
With accountability for delivering in a fast-paced FMCG facility, the HS&E Leader is both an ambassador of change and a subject matter expert whom the General Manager and leadership team will look to for best practice and legislative advice.
Your main focus:
- Advise site leaders on the personnel and financial resources needed for effective HS&E policy and program implementation.
- Ensure compliance with current and forthcoming legislation, and keep the company informed of legal impacts.
- Develop, monitor, and report on objectives, policies, and programs to meet legislative requirements and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental systems.
- Oversee incident reporting, accident statistics, and risk assessments, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place.
- Ensure HSE Continuous improvement through the implementation of the Coty HSE Management Program.
- Liaise with authorities, maintain orderly records, and ensure emergency and medical services are fully operational and compliant.

The role will report into the Plant General Manager and you will work closely together with Operations, Engineering and Quality teams and Central HSE function.
YOU ARE A COTY FIT
You like to champion a culture of safety. As a Health, Safety and Environment Leader you can communicate effectively and you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you:
- NEBOSH diploma
- Strong background in a similar role within FMCG, i.e. 3-5 years in manufacturing environment/chemical plant in UK
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and risk management principles
- Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills and have experience of championing a culture of safety
