We are looking for a Governance Officer to join our busy Governance Team, which sits within the wider Executive team. This role will contribute to driving the continuous improvement of the governance framework and ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance. This is a part-time role, working 30 hours per week. This must include a Monday with the rest of the working pattern to be agreed.

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and planning skills, excellent minute taking skills, and previous experience of working in a governance setting. They will also be able to handle situations with tact and to a high degree of confidentiality.

Key responsibilities will include providing comprehensive support across a full range of governance activities, including providing support to Cottsway’s Board and Committees and being a key contact for Board members. The role will suit someone who enjoys undertaking a variety of tasks including:

  • Taking minutes and action notes of meetings
  • Collating information for reports
  • Assisting with board processes
  • Maintaining accurate records and registers

Requirements:

  • Proven skills in proactively managing, prioritising and completing a variety of tasks, during periods of high pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong IT skills and experienced user of MS Office suite, with ability to learn in-house systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable ability to work with minimal supervision and use own judgement to solve problems.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn subject matter relevant to the role.
  • Ability to generate creative and innovative solutions for improvement while complying with agreed procedures.
  • Experience of minute taking.
  • Ability to deal with confidential matters discreetly.
  • Experience working in a Governance setting / working with Boards and Committees.
